Located in the Gakenke region of northern Rwanda, the Dukunde Kawa Musasa Cooperative was founded in 2000. Its Ruli washing station began operations in 2004. It processes coffee beans from cherries delivered by 824 producers. Located in an environment of volcanic ash soil at an altitude of 1,800-2,200 meters, with two rainy seasons per year, this combined with the high rainfall and slow bean growth results in high-quality, full-bodied cherries.
